After an absence of three years, the French Air Force Air to Air Refuelling Tanker, the C-135FR, belonging to the Sologne 4/31 Air Refueling Squadron, visited LMML for a brief visit after a navigational training flight from Prague (LKPR).
This is the third time that this magnificent and classic aircraft type has visited the island following a first visit back in 2011 and a second visit already mentioned in 2017. In that instance, the tanker had diverted to LMML due to an issue with one of the engines, consequently dragging behind two FAF Rafales, a sight that will also never be forgotten among Maltese aviation enthusiasts.
The aircraft departed the following day on its way back to its base in Istres Le Tube Air Base.
