About

Welcome, and thanks a lot for visiting my website. Let me first introduce myself. My name is Alistair Zammit, I am 29 years old and I am born and raised in Hal Safi, Malta. I’m a military aviation enthusiast and freelance photographer since late 2009.

It all started during  Malta’s annual airshows when my dad used to take me to see the action at each event. Unfortunately I was too young at that moment to fully appreciate what was going on and recognise the various aircraft types and how rare it was to see them sometimes!

As a result, towards the start of 2008 aircraft spotting became more than a passion for me. Besides wanted to actually immortalise aircraft images and thus contribute towards aviation history, aviation photography brought me closer to my career dream of becoming an aerospace engineer and actually work on military aircraft. Following the spectacular display by the Eurofighter typhoon during the Malta International Airshow in 2008 and following the Libyan crisis which affected airport movements in Malta, I ended up working for a few years as a structural engineer at BAE Systems Warton on Eurofighter. A dream come true!!

Nowadays, I have returned to Malta where I am working as a training manager for a private subsidiary of MCM Group, called Aeronautical Professionals Malta. Occasionally, I also deliver lectures at the University of Malta on aircraft structural design.

When I manage to get some time off to dedicate for some photography, I visit my local airport to capture military aircraft visiting Malta, and occasionally travel to airbases around the world in search of some other rare metal to add to my ever growing collection of military aircraft photographs!

Recently, I have also started taking courses and learning more about photography, and thus I am also venturing in portrait photography, wildlife and landscape photography, and event photography.
