Royal Air Force of Oman Typhoons!

Between 5-6th February 2018, a pair of Typhoons transited through Luqa on their way for delivery to the Royal Air Force of Oman. These were the 9th and 10th examples out of a batch of 12 ordered by the Omani Air Force. To date, these were the first and only two examples that travelled through Malta on their way to delivery. The aircraft, serials ‘215’ and ‘216’ departed Luqa in dull and grey weather as can be seen in the images below. Hopefully the last two examples to be delivered will do the same and pass back through Malta!

AFM Night Shoot!

Yesterday 10th January I had the privilege of attending an event organised by the Malta Aviation Society in which we could take photos of various aircraft of the Armed Forces of Malta at Night time. It was truly a spectacular event and I would like to thank the Armed Forces of Malta and the Malta Aviation Society for this amazing well organised event. Plenty of Pictures can be found in the following link:

US Navy at Luqa for Touch and Go’s

Continuing from the recent trend in 2017, on the 5th January 2018 as US Navy P-8 Poseidon visited Luqa again to conduct a series of visual approaches and touch and go’s. The aircraft, serial 169003, came at around 13:30 pm and spent around an hour conducting touch and go’s on runway 31. The aircraft had visited the island before on multiple occasions, however it always came right after sunset, making photography difficult.

Another Rare Military Aircraft Movement!

Between the 4th and 5th January 2018, another very interesting visitor visited Luqa Airport in the form of a Boeing 737-8KN(WL), serial A6-FZZ. It arrived on the 4th January at around 7:30pm and left Luqa on the 5th at around 13:30pm.

The Dubai Air Wing is the paramilitary airline of the government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The airline is used by the Dubai Royal Family, namely the Emir of Dubai, as well as government officials.

Slovenia 2017

Back in August 2017, I have visited the beautiful country of Slovenia. We were staying in  Kranjska Gora, a town in northwestern Slovenia, on the Sava Dolinka River in the Upper Carniola region, close to the Austrian and Italian borders. Since it was that close to two other countries, we also had the opportunity to visit places in Italy and Austria while we where there.

I had the opportunity to visit lots of mountains, gorges, historical caves with natural rock formations, as well as the beautiful capital city of Ljubljana. Some highlights of my trip can be found below.
